There are two main types of heat recovery wheels: sensible heat recovery wheels and total heat recovery wheels.
- Sensible heat recovery wheels
The material of sensible heat recovery wheels is generally aluminum foil. Its working principle is to achieve heat exchange by passing fresh air and exhaust air through the two semicircles of the wheel in reverse. Sensible heat recovery wheels can only recover heat, not moisture.
- Total heat recovery wheels
The material of the total heat recovery wheel is aluminum foil material or other heat storage and moisture absorption material with a hygroscopic surface. In addition to heat exchange, it can also recover moisture. In addition to heat transfer, the total heat type wheel also has moisture transfer. The partial pressure of water vapor in the exhaust air is higher than the partial pressure of the coating on the surface of the heat storage core. The water vapor is adsorbed by the coating. When the wheel rotates to the fresh air side, the water vapor is transferred to the fresh air.
